Mollie Anderson Van Allen, of Richmond, VA 1915-2016, passed away peacefully Sat. evening Nov. 5, 2016, an hour before her 101st birthday. She was the last surviving child of noted VA architect, D. Wiley Anderson and Sarah Graves Wilkinson. She was a beloved mother and a founding member of St.Barnabas Episcopal Church. She was loved by many and active in church, travel, friends, family, genealogy, theatre, concerts, swimming, archery, camping, croquet, decorating and gardening; always bringing joy to those who knew her. She was a graduate of Smithdeal Massey Business College & worked as a secretary and cost accountant for many years beginning with her father, then Buckingham Slate, Dupont, Reconstruction Finance Administration, the Army Air Force, various businesses, such as; graphic artist Chas.Kalman, dispatcher for Manchester Vol. Rescue Squad, but mostly for the U.S. Govt. at DGSC Bellwood and at Fort Lee, and very supportively for her son Keith's "Van Allen Animation" studio. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell, and is survived by sons Russell and Keith, daughter-in-law Linda, granddaughter Melody Hartley, & husband Darrin, great grandson Justin Watts and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby's Bridge Rd. Chesterfield, VA on Saturday, November 12, at 2 PM
(just West of Court House Rd, the WEST section of Newby's Bridge, the roads are really chopped up around there, so go just south on Courthouse off 288 and pick up Newby's Bridge going west. The cemetery is just a 1/4 mile on the left, inside the northern woods of Pocahontas St. Park.).
